Empowerment of Marginalised Families to Overcome Structural Poverty in Bangladesh and India (MORZADA)


Overall objective: To contribute to the eradication of extreme poverty and hunger in Bangladesh and India.

Specific objective (outcome):The food security of 12,000 extreme poor people in the districts Dinajpur in Bangladesh and Murshidabad and Birbum in India is permanently improved. They can sustainably meet their nutritional needs and claim their basic economic, social and cultural rights.

DRCSC has started implementing this project towards sustainable development of 800 extreme poor households residing at Narayanpurand Mahisashthali GP of Nabargramand Bhagwangola 1 Block respectively of Murshidabad district, West Bengal.

The project is being implemented in 22 villages of 2 GPs. After a primary selection through different PRA tools and household survey, the final selection has been completed and women representatives from 800 extreme poor households have been organized under 44 groups.
