 Sanlaap 2022: A National Conclave on Disseminating Eight Lessons Learned in developing resilience against climate risks for small scale farmers in semi-arid regions. The conclave was held at The Park Hotel, Kolkata on 22 July 2022. Organised by DRCSC and supported by AFB and NABARD. Eminent dignitaries (Mr K. Balamurgan, Chief Environment Officer, Govt. of WB; Ms. Usha Ramesh, CGM NABARD; Dr A. R. Khan, CGM NABARD; Ms Gitika Goswami (Associate vice-president, Development Initiatives), Prof. Saon Bandyopadhyay (BCKV), Mr Kailash Chand Pandey (Climate Expert), Prof. Sugata Hazra (School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University), Mr Dibyendu Sarkar (Ex-commissioner, P&RD), Mr Anshuman Das (Project Manager, WHH). Also Mr Ardhendu S. Chatterjee, President DRCSC; Mr Dilip Kr. Sarkar, Secretary DRCSC), Ms Somjita Chakraborty (CPO, DRCSC) and others were present. Mr. Sanjib Bandyopadhyay's (DDG, India Meteorological Department, Kolkata) addressed on the importance of weather forecast and agro-advisories in the field of Agriculture and Other Livelihoods. The panel discussion session on climate resilient farming practices: where farmers of Purulia and Bankura shared their experiences along with eminent dignitaries Ms. Gitika Goswami (Associate Vice President, Development Initiatives), Mr. Ardhendu S. Chatterjee (President, DRCSC), Dr. Pallab De (Project Director, DRCSC). Other discussion sessions also there on GIS technology for water harvesting structures and hyper-local weather stations, multi-stakeholder approach, purpose-driven women groups and community ownership etc.

 

 A Farmers Convention on celebration of learnings and experiences, was organised by DRCSC at Sonathali Community Hall, Kasipur, Purulia 31 May - 1 June, 2022.

 

 Padmabati Mandi a small farmer of Chingri village, Bankura, who practices sustainable integrated farming systems, and established herself a successful ecopreneur is being awarded by NABARD WB RO, Kolkata on International Women's Day 8 March, 2020.

 

 International Conference on Climate Services-6: This conference was organized by World Meteorological Orgnization and IRI Columbia and hosted by Indian Institute of Meteorology at Pune, India between 11-13 Feb 2020. Total 148 participants were there from different parts of the country mainly working on climate change, sustainable agriculture and climate services.

State level experience sharing workshop has been organized by DRCSC at Kolkata on 31 July, 2019, where the experience of DRCSC with regard to climate change adaptation work in Purulia and Bankura has been shared. The Chief General Manager of NABARD is chairing the meeting. The dignitaries Secretary and joint secretary of P&RD and Commissioner MGNREG cell, senior officer environment department, head of the department of Jadavpur University, other officials feomdifferent government departments have been attended in the workshop Participants from different NGO's and donor organizations are also graced the occasion. Farmers from two districts were also present to share their experiences with the guests

A Local Level Workshop and Exprience Sharing Meet was organised by DRCSC Bankua Project on 21.06.2019 at Murth Baha Ecopark, Susunia, Chhatna Block, Bankura. The event was inagurated by Mrityunjoy Murmu, Sabhadhipati Zilla Parishad, Mrs. Saswati Das, BDO Chhatna, Somnath Vattacharjya, DDM NABARD Bankura, Dr. Sanjoy Seal, prof. BCKV Chhatna, Deputy Director Agriculture ( Administration) and Mr. Ardhendu Sekhar Chatterjee, Secretary, DRCSC. More than 120 farmers were shared their expriences regarding Climate Change Adaptation strategy. Dr. Manas Bhattacharjya Principal, KVK Kalkyan, Purulia, Dr.Manas Mondal BLDO Chatna, Mrinal Kanti Mondal , Soil & Water Conservation & Survey and Planing, Bankura,Mr. Subhasish Batyabal, Chairman State Seed Corporation, WB, Dr. Sujit Mal , prof. BCKV Chhatna were also attented the event.

 

Celebrated World Environment Day at CHACHHANPUR GHOSHERGRAM Panchayat, CHATNAA Block, BANKURA in association with CHACHHANPUR SMRITY SISHU VIDYALAYA with gracious presence of the founder of the school REBA MURMU, President and Secretary of GHOSHERGRAM ANCHOLIK JALABIVAJIKA PARISAD and JHUNJKA ANCHOLIK JALABIVAJIKA PARISAD. About 100 students and 70 Self Help Group members were present in the programme.

An inaugural ceremony of Community Based Drinking Water Facility under Enhancing Adaptive Capacity and Increasing Resilience of Small and Marginal Farmers of Purulia and Bankura Districts of West Bengal. The objectives of programme to advocate and generate mass awareness about safe drinking water, reduce the drudgery of women. Saved time can be used for other livelihood activities, hence vulnerability will get reduced.

Ayan Das PA to MIC AGRI, Govt of WB,Jaharlal Bhoumik SAO, Raghunathpur, Brajomohan Mondal ADA kashipur were visited our Green College, Purulia on 29.9 2018. They were visited at Lara - Mahulbona & Jagannathdih- Namogora. The main purpose of the visit was understanding of our Green college activities, Meeting witb ATMA benificiaries and also alternative crop diversification in fallow & baid land. DDM NABARD was also visited the same time and met with them.
 
Tree plantation is going on at Lora village of Purulia on 02.08.2018. This venture is a part of social forestry programme under NABARD CCA Project, implementing by DRCSC. About 30 nos different types of fruit and valuable wood trees have been planted
