The key aim of this programme is to enhance capacity of the unemployed youths in natural resource based livelihood vocations and developing them as the future leaders for the community in this regard.
In the said programme, we select different trades based on certain criteria- i) Availability of Raw Materials (natural resources), ii) Local Demand, iii) Scope for future extension etc. Moreover, before introducing the product we do value chain analysis, participatory market research, and scout scopes for forward and backward linkages at regional level. As a result, enrolment of the youths in the selected trades and entrepreneurship development ratio is higher than any other similar kind of programmes. Nonetheless, these trained youth other than becoming ecopreneurs in the community also serves as a master trainer or get employed in similar type of enterprises.
Under this programme we are working with 981 youth and 22 SHGs in Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia, West Midnapur and South 24 Parganas districts of West Bengal, India.
